Differences between democracy and dictatorship

In the history of civilization there were many forms of the modern state, but these two are the most common and also, the most important. Starting with the basic, in democracy, the party with the most votes are in control in the parliament, and they also depend on their voters. In a dictatorship, there is only one leader and who has total control over the country. Propaganda is often used to make these leaders the country and the people’s hero. Other difference is, that people in democracy are free to criticise the party if mistakes are made, and the press can freely write the truth. Although, in a dictatorship, citizens have no inidividual rights, and they are controlled by laws, the police, or even spying. These states and countries also frequently use media, such as the radio or television and the newspapers just to control people’s lives and make them brainwashed. Different from all these above, in democracy there is usually less control over the media, and  what people enjoy, for example books, or even movies. The government has no right to tell them what to spend their time with, and what should they believe. In a democratic country, people are free to join clubs, political parties and other local groups.
