Comparison/Contrast Paragraph

Subtitles vs. Dubbing

Watching a film or a tv series in their original language with subtitles is a different experience than watching the dubbed version. Subtitling has many advantages. For example, it allows you to hear the original actors' performances. In addition to this, watching foreign films with subtitles can speed up your language learning process. It can not only increase your reading speed and listening comprehension, but it can also help you with your vocabulary. On the other hand, reading subtitles can be tiring, especially for young children. Dubbing solves this problem. Another benefit of dubbing is that watching a film in your native language can bring you closer to the characters. However, it also has its disadvantages. To give an example, sometimes the dubbers' voice does not match the original actors' lip movement, which can be quite distracting and even irritating. In conclusion, both versions have advantages and disadvantages alike, so it is a matter of taste which one you prefer.
